Springtime is just around the corner, and so is a host of festival screenings. Within one week we’ll be screening on three different continents. First the UK and Ireland premiere in the Maysles Brothers Competition at the 9th Jameson Belfast Film Festival.
Then, following last month’s sneak preview screening at the True/False Film Festival in Columbia, Missouri (where my last film HOMEMADE HILLBILLY JAM was the closing night film in 2005), we’re going to have our official North American premiere at the highly-regarded Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, North Carolina. A month later, we’ll be heading north of the border to celebrate the Canadian premiere at Hot Docs.
But the really exciting news is that I’m heading to Brazil with my ten-year-old son Jonathan (the little kid in the garden scene) for the South American premiere at the It’s All True – É Tudo Verdade doc festival in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia. It’s All True is the premiere documentary event in all of South America so it should be a big deal. We’re thrilled, and can’t wait to leave.
Shortly after we get back in mid-April, we’ll have the Berlin premiere at last at the Achtung Berlin – New Berlin Film Award Festival. It will be great to finally have a screening for the local crowds.
In May, I’ll be in Toronto and in Warsaw, where I’ll be giving a master class following the screening at Planete Doc Review. In between the two festivals, FD will be showing at DocAviv in Tel Aviv. Wish I could go, but it doesn’t look like I can make it.
So lots going on. I hope I have some more encounters with interested viewers. Please post something if you’ve seen the film and want to get something off your chest. Even better, give us a rating or write a review at imdb.com. It would be much appreciated!
I’ll try to post some more soon!
